Hello,
we're a small comapny with only 25 SEP clients; Enpoint Protection Manager is running on Windows 2003 server.
We're migrating to a new Windows 2012 R2 server, and I need to migrate Symantec Endpoint Protection as well. The old Win2003 srv will be decomissioned. I do not need to migrate any policies/groups (it's a simple installation), I just do not want to manually reinstall all clients.
I think this will be the easiest and quickest solution for us:
- install SEP 12.1.4 on the new Windows 2012 R2 server
- replace Sylink.xml on the old SEP 11 clients using Slink Replacer 1.3
- automatically update all clients to SEP 12.1.4
Do you think this will work? Since all clients are running SEP 11, I guest I should use Slink Replacer v1.3 instead of the latest version (Slink Replacer 12.1); is that correct?
Thank you guys!
