I haven't found a section for Symantec Firewall, so I've posted here.
I have a strange problem with symantec firewall(NTP). I've read many discussion forums concerning the network speed being slow because of active symantec firewall. My case is a little different. I have one harddrive(with symantec already installed) that I use as a base for all our PCs. I use clonezilla to get another clone of it. Our system typically consists of 3 such PCs. Problem is that on some(not every) PCs the symantec gets somehow "corrupted" and downloading from that PC(or uploading from it) is about 100 times slower than it is with "OK" PC. I am not 100% sure if it's a problem of symantec, however I found two solutions to this problem. Either disable whole Symantec NTP(Firewall) on given PC or reinstall symantec. Both ways solve the problem. We have registered this behaviour with version 12.1.2 and now with 12.1.4 . Disabling of Antivirus, Download insight, autoprotect, intrusion etc doesn't help.
Could there be some collision of Symantec IDs caused by cloning of harddrives?
I think it is not a problem of cloning itself because so far we had no problem with other software parts of system.
Slow speed concerns windows sharing, FTP.
Running Win 7 64bit, SEP 64 bit(unmanaged client).
