I'm running Windows Server 2008 R2 and want the SEP service to run under a service account and not "Local System". The "Log On" tab is greyed out. "SC config" gives me error #5. I've tried as the local admin account or as a domain account with administrator rights. I could not find a search tab for these discussions.
Part of the reason I want to do this is because I do not feel SEP is cleaning virus' on mapped network drives. If I ran SEP 11 under Local System and scanned a network mapped drive, it claim to have cleaned a file when infact it did nothing and the file would show up again if you rescanned. It was not until I ran the SEP 11 service with a service account did it actually clean the infected file found on a network drive. I think I'm having the same issue with SEP 12.
