Hi Everyone
I have a question about merging exclusion policy.
Here is the scenario.
You have Group A on top.
Then below this, you have subgroup B.
On Group A, you create a new exclusion policy called A-Exclusion. In this you exclude C:\test.txt.
I then need to create a new exclusion on Group B.
What is the best way to create a new Exclusion policy, whilst merging what was set in Group A.
I can think of few ways, but what is generally the best way?
1. Break the inheritence on Group B, and edit the local exclusion policy. This way, i am adding to what is already excluded from the group higer up the tree. However, i dont like doing this locally to the group, as it can be hard to manage.
2. Break inheritence on Group B. Copy the A-Exclusion policy, and paste as a new policy. Rename it B-Exclusion. This will retain what was set in group A. Edit B-exclusion to add further exclusions. Then assign this to Group B. Hence, B-exclusion policy will now takeover in Group B.
Is there other ways? Like how it works with GPO's in AD?
Thanks,
DM.
