Hi everyone,
I am using SEP and Apple Airplay and opened ports Protocol TCP & Enter 3689 For Both Local & Remote / Protocol UDP & Enter 5353 For Both Local & Remote. SEP is still blocking airplay and I am required to disable all network threat protections for iTunes to be able to see airplay devices on the network. I first tried to follow these recommendations: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH155340&profileURL=https%3A%2F%2Fsymaccount-profile.symantec.com%2FSSO%2Findex.jsp%3FssoID%3D14000494188116mI0r9n9L8G8rV0Fn8GL8wMmVDxoFiKd7rGlE but I guess I don't have the same version of SEP, since I can't add a blank rule for instance. I then found this discussion: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/itu..., and I think I have the same exact version. I followed the steps described by DMB62476, but unfortunately it didn't work -- I can't connect my Apple TV to my iTunes library, nor can I use AirParrot (except if I disable SEP, probably not a good idea).
I posted on the previous post, and _Brian asked me: " Did you add an allow rule based on the block taking place in your traffic log?"
I looked at my logs and realized there were blocks on other remote ports. I added new rules with these remote ports (they all have the same local port: 3689, and all are TCP), but each time I add a rule based on the previous block and that I try again to link my Apple TV and my computer, I get a new block based on another port. So far, I created 6 rules and I still get blocked, so I am not sure there is a point in creating even more rules.
I would really appreciate any advice!
Thank you,
Maxime
