Hello,
Through this helfpul forum discussion, last year I was able to use firewall rules that allowed iTunes to detect my iPad over wifi: http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/iphone-wifi...
But for some reason, the firewall rules that I created no longer allows iTunes to detect my iPad over wifi.
The four rules that I established last year allows traffic to and from ports UDP 5353 and TCP 3689 for each of the IP addresses that correspond to my iPad and the computer that has iTunes.
Those rules allowed for iTunes to detect my iPad--but only for a while. Not any more. I don't know if I need to allow traffic into and out of other ports (I've tried adding ports UDP 1900, TCP and UDP 123, and ICMP 3 through additional firewall rules, all to no avail.)
The ony way I can get iTunes to detect my iPad is by turning off SEP firewall protection. Obviously that is not a good, long-term solution.
If any knows of other ports that I should open, or other troubleshooting options, I would be grateful.
Thank you.
