SEP client report on existence of specific files

Can the SEP 12.1.x client detect or report on the existence of certain files on every computer in the environment?  For example, regardless of whether the file is an executable or not, can it find all files matching a certain name and report on them, or find all files matching a certain MD5 hash?

If so, can anyone point me in the right direction of how this can be acheived, or give tips on doing so?
