Scan of mapped network drives

Hello,

I have the following question. If we have the following options in the AV policy:

File System Auto-Protect -> Network scan -  option to scan files on remote computers is NOT checked

Scan Network drive -> Ask for a password before scanning a mapped network drive IS checked and password is set

then during scheduled full scan from SEPM, mapped network drives will not be scanned (according to this article http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH96284)

But what will happen if the user manually tries to run scan from the SEP client (either to schedule it locally or to run On-demand)? I think in this case user should not be able to scan the mapped drives???
